Love Others (August 2021)
You can love others by choosing to wear a mask even if you are vaccinated.  The Delta variant of the corona virus makes it easier for people to get sick.  We provide masks for free and encourage the use of higher quality masks such as the KN95 that we also provide for free.  Masks need to fit tightly and filter at a higher level to be effective and helpful.  Masks do not eliminate the risk of infection but they reduce the risk of infection especially if you wear a higher quality mask such as the KN95 or N95.

CDC reverses indoor mask policy, saying fully vaccinated people and kids should wear them indoors.

At some vaccine locations no appointments are required and there is no waiting. A quick reminder: We have REME LED systems in all of our air conditioning systems.  These devices kill viruses.

Our REME HALO systems in combination with constant air flow, seating separation, social distancing and mask usage reduce but do not eliminate risk of illness.

We hope you are doing well.  If you are not, please let us know.  We will continue to meet ONLINE for now.  At this point, the risk of getting someone sick makes us want to hold off a little longer and is worth the sacrifice.

April 18, 2020

There is a difference between our purpose and our methods. Our purpose is to lead people to trust Jesus for forgiveness and give him leadership of their lives.  As much as I want to be able to meet in person again, our purpose is not to have a worship service each Sunday – that is a method.  Purpose doesn’t change – methods change.  So for now, we will use this time to experiment.

We will do anything to reach people who don’t know Christ. To reach people no one is reaching, we’ll have to do things no one is doing.  To reach people we have never reached, we’ll have to do things we have never done.

We are spiritual contributors, not spiritual consumers. The church does not exist for us. We are the church and we exist for the world.

At some point churches will be able to meet in person, and things will begin stabilize. But don’t look for things to go “back to normal.”

Expect that God is creating a “new normal”—one where the global Church is a strong, positive force both in our physical communities and online.

We will lead the way with irrational generosity. We believe it is more blessed to give than to receive.

The local church is the hope of the world, and we know we can accomplish infinitely more together than apart. So we will help other churches as much as possible.

Church Online Sundays at 10:15 a.m.
Experiencing community is important for the church. The Bible says, Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24-25).
But during the Covid-19 pandemic, how can we safely gather together to encourage, love, and pray for one another? Join us online this Sunday at 10:15 a.m.!  CHURCH ONLINE

Dear Life Pointe family,

I hope you are doing well and if you are not, please let us know.  Our leaders are asking us to slow the spread of the coronavirus.  So we will do all we can.  We will continue to not meet together.  In the meantime, join me in reading my favorite book in the Bible – Philippians.  We find so many helpful verses there.  Read it HERE.

We were able to video the service this last Sunday but our website has developed a technical issue that has tech support struggling to fix.  We have been on tech support all day.  In the meantime, you can watch last Sunday’s service HERE.

God loves you and I love you too!  Praying for you!

Dear Life Pointe Church family,

Philippians 4:6-7 New Living Translation (NLT)
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

This is a well known Bible verse and shows us how to live each day. It is easy to worry when disease is spreading around the world, financial markets are struggling, stores are temporarily short on supplies, schools are closing, and the news on tv is non-stop coronavirus updates. Nevertheless, we will get through this challenge and we can use this time to help others.

People will respond in different ways. As Christians we should be patient and kind toward others who will respond differently to this situation than we do.

Romans 15:1 New Living Translation (NLT)
15 We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves.

So what will we do. We are called by God to treat others as we would want to be treated, and to serve and love those around us. While most of us are not at serious risk from COVID-19, we have many in our community who are—especially the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions. If the spread of the virus is not quickly contained, not only will it put many we know and love in danger, but our medical system will be overwhelmed and unable to serve the vulnerable in need.

To provide the necessary social distancing to slow down the spread of this virus, we will follow the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control, https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html, and Fort Bend County, https://www.missouricitytx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/11933/Fort-Bend-County-Public-Guidance-3122020.

As a result, there will be no programs for preschool, elementary, middle or high school students this Sunday. There will also be no food provided. There will be people at the church building who will be attempting to record the worship service with the equipment we have at the moment in order to post the video on our website as soon as possible. There will be no regular worship service this Sunday. We will decide about future worship services on a weekly basis.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes our members and guests. We feel that this move is necessary to ensure the well-being of everyone, especially the most vulnerable among us. We are so grateful we get to do life together and together we will support each other and our friends and community in any way we can.

Alan
